SIGURDUR INGOLFSSON - born 1961. Studied philosophy and mathematics at the University of Iceland before completing his maitrise in poetics from the University of Paris VII, Vincennes a St. Denis with a thesis on Walter Benjamin's Passagen-Werk. After spending two years as a visiting scholar at Moscow State University, Maitre Ingolfsson took up the study of economics, completing an M.Sc. in 1997. In 1998 he was engaged as a Risk Manager at the Nordic Investment Bank in Helsinki. Subsequently he joined the Project Finance arm of the bank and took over the leadership of a number of significant investment projects in Russia. Upon his return to Iceland in 2003, Ingolfsson founded his own consulting firm: Riskmanagement Ltd. He is currently active as an advisor to the Financial Supervisory Authority, Iceland (FME) and the Government of Iceland in matters relating to the restructuring of the Icelandic banking system.
