FRIEDRICH ADOLF KITTLER – was born in 1943 in Rochlitz. Media philosopher. His family fled with him to West Germany in 1958. A Doctor of Philosophy. VIACHESLAV IZMAILOV – born In 1954. Makhachkala, Republic of Dagestan. War correspondent of “Novaya Gazeta”. In 1985-87 he participated in the military operations in Afghanistan. In 1995 after his article in "Novaya Gazeta" “I don’t want to draft into that army” he was sent to serve as an officer of the 205 motorized infantry in Chechnya. His first publications in “Novaya Gazeta” came out in 1995. The first hostages were released in April 1996. He is an author of numerous articles dealing with juridical and military aspects of that war, and of what is going on in the Republic as its aftermath. In 1997-2001 he continues the same activity on their search and negotiations as a correspondent of “Novaya Gazeta”. He released more than 170 hostages without any ransom.
